We're Hiring! Head Waterfowl Guide

Join Our Team

King Whitetails is seeking an experienced Head Waterfowl Guide to lead our duck and goose hunting operations in Kansas for the December–February waterfowl season. This position is ideal for a motivated, professional guide who takes pride in running top-tier hunts and delivering an exceptional client experience.

Position Overview

The Head Waterfowl Guide will be responsible for planning and guiding duck and goose hunts, managing daily operations in the field, and ensuring safe, ethical, and successful hunts for our clients. This role requires strong leadership, extensive waterfowl knowledge, and the ability to operate independently.

Season

  • December through February
  • Full-time during the waterfowl season
  • Early mornings, long days, and variable weather conditions expected

Responsibilities

  • Guide clients on duck and goose hunts
  • Scout and pattern birds daily
  • Set and manage decoy spreads
  • Call ducks and geese effectively
  • Handle and manage hunting dogs in the field
  • Ensure all hunts are conducted safely and legally
  • Maintain positive client relations and represent King Whitetails professionally
  • Assist with property and landowner respect and upkeep
  • Manage daily hunt logistics and timing

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a waterfowl guide (required)
  • Strong knowledge of duck and goose behavior, migration, and calling
  • Ability to consistently scout and produce quality hunts
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to work independently and lead hunts without supervision
  • Comfortable guiding hunters of all experience levels
  • Must follow all Kansas hunting laws and ethical hunting practices

Equipment Requirements

Applicants must provide their own professional-grade equipment, including but not limited to:

  • Duck and goose decoys
  • Layout blinds / field blinds / water setups
  • Shotgun and personal hunting gear
  • Trained waterfowl dogs (preferred, not required but highly valued)
  • Calls, trailers, ATVs/UTVs (if applicable)

Licensing

  • Must possess all required Kansas hunting licenses, permits, and stamps
  • Valid driver’s license required

Compensation

  • Competitive pay based on experience
