Kansas Whitetail Deer Hunting Outfitter
King Whitetails is a Kansas Whitetail Outfitter on around 7,500 acres specifically managed for your Deer Hunting experience. Most of our whitetail hunting properties are spread out into four different units 4, 7, 8, and unit 14. In these units the whitetail hunting tracts of land are anywhere from an 80-acre section all the way up to our biggest section of Six hundred acres. We have multiple smaller parcels for you spread out through multiple counties. This allows us to rest certain parcels and monitor cameras so we can place you on the most active farms for deer hunting success. The layout of the land is diverse because it is in the heart of the Flint Hills region in eastern Kansas. The whitetail properties change from East to West, so all our eastern parcels and farms are going to have a lot of pasture, cedar thickets, and the eastern hunting parcels are more rolling hills. The more Western parcels will offer river bottoms and crops or CRP's which tend to be a little flatter and a more predictable wind direction. King Whitetails will choose deer hunter stand locations based on two primary factors, wind direction and camera data for the best whitetail deer hunting outfitter setups and success.
Most of the deer stands you will be whitetail hunting out of are 1.5-person Muddy Ladder Stands for your comfort and extra room for your gear. Each year the total number of deer stands will vary but usually we run on average seventy-five ladder stands and somewhere in the vicinity of twenty box blinds. King Whitetails also uses hang on stands for our archery whitetail hunts if we need to adjust the whitetail archery hunter when we want to get some different setups based on deer movement. We also do a few brush in ground blinds for certain situations whether it be for hunter convenience or whitetail movement. All our farms are pre scouted and baited for your success.
Shot Distances for Whitetail Deer Hunting in Kansas
The average muzzle loader shot distance for whitetail deer hunting is typically 50 to 100 yards with maximum distances out to two hundred yards here in Kansas. King Whitetails hunt open fields, crops, and CRP so it is important to be comfortable shooting at least two hundred yards with your muzzleloader as this will increase your success rate for this whitetail hunting trip. Rifle hunting is similar, about 50 to 100 yards with possible opportunities out to two hundred yards or so. Your typical shots for archery whitetail deer hunting are 20 to 30 yards as we place bait locations anywhere from 20 to 25 yards from your stand. Please practice these distances because your whitetail hunting success depends on it.
Kansas Whitetail Hunting Lodge
King Whitetails has two whitetail hunting lodges. The main lodge is modern and extremely comfortable. We have three bedrooms that sleep two singles in each bedroom so up to six whitetail hunters. The main lodge has two full bathrooms and an open floor layout. So as soon as you enter the main lodge through the front door you are greeted with an expansive living room to watch TV which also includes Wi-Fi for Internet and cathedral ceiling which blends right into the open kitchen. Also equipped with a laundry room for the whitetail hunters to do their laundry. We even have a garage that is equipped with scent lock lockers to hang your hunting clothes and keep them scent free.
The second lodge will hold up to two additional whitetail hunters and is lakeside, so you get a little bit of a different view. The second lodge is also like the main lodge with an open layout, living room, TV with cable, Wi-Fi, washer, and dryer, two bathrooms, garage, scent lockers, and a fire pit for evening relaxation.
Corporate Whitetail deer hunts or large group hunts at King Whitetails are treated a little differently. We will try to put all the whitetail hunters together into one hunting lodge privately and typically give you a special rate. Our definition of Corporate or group hunts are typically five or more hunters all from the same hunting party. Meals provided by King Whitetails
During your stay with King Whitetails, you will be provided three meals a day and whitetail deer hunting packages are all-inclusive. Typically breakfast during archery hunting is a continental layout which will include foods like granola bars, fresh fruit, cereal, and coffee because we try to get you out the door and into the stand early. During the muzzleloader deer hunting season breakfasts are a little more in depth, maybe eggs, bacon, toast, sausage, or pancakes, whatever the whitetail hunters want. Lunches are typically packed lunches like sandwiches, chips, fruit. We have a good variety of food for breakfast and lunch, no one goes hungry here at King Whitetails. Dinner is a full course home cooked meal, and an example would be BBQ chicken, macaroni casserole or mashed potatoes, vegetable salad, and then dessert on top of that. Dinner menus are always different every night. Expect home cooked casserole dishes, crock pot chili, steak nights, burgers, brats, and the like. The above meals are a small sample of a few options, but it changes every week and every year we add new mouthwatering recipes. Regardless of the which whitetail season you are provided a continental breakfast or full breakfast, a packed lunch and then a good home cooked meal with desserts all prepared fresh by our personal cook.
Kansas Deer Hunting Gear List
A good starting point for your Kansas whitetail deer hunting gear list should include base, Mid and Outer layer whitetail hunting clothes for all types of weather conditions, hot cold and wet. Please enter our area, Milford Kansas, in your favorite weather app to view actual conditions to be better prepared prior to your hunting trip. Waterproof or Gore Tex Hunting Boots, Safety Harness and Lanyard, Binoculars, Rangefinder, Flashlights with Red/Green Option, Large Cooler for your harvested meat, Blaze Orange Hat, and Vest (five hundred square inches) for Firearm Hunters. During the early muzzle loader whitetail season a good no scent bug spray or Thermacell is highly recommended.
Tentative 2025 Hunting Packages and Dates for Whitetail Deer
Muzzleloader Whitetail Deer Hunting Package
Muzzleloader whitetail deer hunting is an early season, and we offer five-day hunt packages during this time in September, usually the second and third week of the month. It will start with arrival in the late afternoon and a traditional meet and greet at the hunting lodge with everyone after your arrival. We will go over the liability waiver and then enjoy a good dinner that evening. You will then get five full days of muzzle loader hunting. We typically do not whitetail hunt mornings during muzzleloader because of the temperatures and deer movement but you hunt your way. Sometimes we get a good cold front that pushes through during the early muzzleloader season, and we will hunt in the mornings but most of the time we are hunting in the evenings because the deer are still in their summer patterns. You will whitetail deer hunt five days straight and then spend the last night refreshed in the morning for your departure. The actual full time with us on a muzzle loader whitetail deer hunting package is 7 days. Each of those five hunting days will consist of waking up having breakfast, lunch, and going out and hunting coming back just after dark and having dinner.

Archery Whitetail Deer Hunting Package
Archery whitetail deer hunting packages are a six-day hunt, and all our archery hunting weeks are set up where you arrive on a Saturday, and you leave on a Saturday. You will get six full days of whitetail deer hunting in between so you are hunting from Sunday to Friday each week of our archery whitetail season. You will arrive on a Saturday, the day before the hunt starts, that way everybody gets six full days of hunting. After your arrival we do a meet and greet at the lodge and go over the liability waiver, get settled in your room the out back to shoot your bow and then a good dinner and night’s sleep for the hunt in the morning. The first morning of the hunt during archery I strongly recommend all day sets but that is not a requirement, and it is up to the deer hunter, it is your hunt to hunt as hard as you see fit. For whitetail hunters that choose not to sit all day we will go out to pick you up and bring you back in for a mid to late morning early afternoon snack and then take you back out early afternoon for the evening set. For the hardcore whitetail hunters who choose to sit all day or as long as the wind stays constant and the stand location is not compromised, we will keep you in that stand for that day. Pickup is after dark and back to the hunting lodge with your downed game and a big dinner. Most of the time we will wait for all the hunters to come to camp before anyone has dinner, so no one is left out. After the last day of your whitetail deer hunting trip, you will have a good night’s sleep with a departure in the am of your last or seventh day.

Rifle Whitetail Deer Hunting Packages
The rifle whitetail deer hunting package is a five-day hunt, coming in the day before and leaving the day after so you will get five full days of rifle whitetail hunting. A Kansas rifle hunt typically starts with an early morning sit and then back for a good breakfast or lunch then back out for the evening sit. For any hunter who would like to extend a sit or stay out all day during the rifle deer hunting season is a little easier on you because we are hunting more box blinds during this time of the year. A box stand or blind is a little more comfortable and easier to sit all day if it is cold. I recommend sitting all day but sometimes during the rifle hunting season we might get a warmup to the point where the deer movement kind of creeps to a low. If this happens you might want to have us pick you up and then go back out to hit that afternoon peak again before the sunsets.
