Kansas Hunting Licenses and Tags
In addition to the package price, hunters need the applicable Kansas hunting licenses, permits, and stamps. The following figures are estimates based on the fees discussed for the package.
| Hunting Type | Estimated Cost |
|---|---|
| Waterfowl, including required stamps | $169.00 |
| Spring turkey, including draw and permit if successful | $212.50 |
| Whitetail deer, including draw and permit if successful | $477.50 |
| Predator hunting, including thermal/night-vision permit and one bobcat permit, plus hunting license | $282.50 |
| Subtotal before adjusting for shared license | $1,141.50 |
| Deduct duplicate annual hunting licenses counted in multiple categories | -$382.50 |
| Estimated total for all four | $759.00 |
All four species for less than $800 in estimated tags and license costs. That's less than one elk tag.
The estimated total accounts for the annual nonresident hunting license being shared across activities rather than purchased four times.
The thermal permit fee needs confirmation with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP). Deer and turkey draw success is not guaranteed. Online processing fees and equipment costs are not included.
What Your Budget Covers
- Waterfowl: Ducks and geese, including state and federal stamps.
- Turkey: One spring turkey permit, if drawn.
- Whitetail: One nonresident deer permit, if drawn.
- Predators: Coyote hunting with thermal equipment, plus one bobcat permit.
