Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to hunting trips booked with King Whitetails. By reserving a hunt, the hunter acknowledges and agrees to the booking, payment, transfer and participation terms described below.

1. Booking a Hunt

Hunt availability is limited because King Whitetails deliberately limits hunter numbers and spreads hunting pressure across its private properties.

A phone interview is required before a hunt is officially booked. Hunters may begin the booking process through the website, by phone or by email.

Contact King Whitetails at 785-307-0506 or Support@KingWhitetails.com to discuss the hunt, available dates, pricing and booking requirements.

2. Hunt Deposits and Payments

Deposit and payment requirements vary by hunt type.

All prices are subject to the rates in effect for the hunt and dates being booked. Hunters should confirm current pricing and availability with King Whitetails before making travel arrangements.

3. Deposits and Cancellations

Deposits are non-refundable.

King Whitetails does not offer cancellations as a standard option. If a hunter cannot attend, hunt dates may be transferred or changed under the applicable booking policy.

Waterfowl bookings require a $1,000 deposit per hunter, with the remaining balance due before the hunt. Waterfowl hunts cannot be cancelled, but dates may be changed.

Predator hunts must be paid in full when booked. Predator hunts cannot be cancelled, but dates may be changed.

If a hunter needs to move a hunt to the following year because of a serious last-minute emergency, King Whitetails will determine whether the hunt can be transferred to the following year or whether the hunt is lost. Any such transfer is subject to King Whitetails approval.

Hunters should contact King Whitetails as soon as possible if circumstances arise that may affect their ability to attend.

4. Transferring a Hunt

A booked hunt may be transferred to another hunter under the booking policy. The original hunter should contact King Whitetails before making any transfer so the change can be reviewed and approved.

A transfer does not create a refund of the original deposit or payments.

5. Kansas Turkey Draw Policy

Spring turkey hunters are responsible for obtaining the appropriate Kansas hunting tag. King Whitetails provides one-on-one assistance with the Kansas nonresident application process at no additional charge.

A 50% deposit is due when spring turkey hunting dates are reserved. The remaining balance is due on or before April 1. Any booking made after April 1 is due in full.

If a hunter does not draw a tag for the applicable King Whitetails units, the hunter receives a preference point through the Kansas Department of Natural Resources. King Whitetails will roll the deposit and hunt dates over to the following year under the draw policy.

King Whitetails currently expects a 99% success rate for the following year's application process.

6. Hunting Conditions and Harvests

All King Whitetails hunts are conducted on a 100% fair chase basis. No harvest or particular trophy size is guaranteed.

Whitetail hunters should understand that hunting results vary from season to season. Weather, hunter numbers, hunter experience, deer condition, drought, injury, disease, wind, human pressure and other natural conditions can affect deer movement and hunting results.

A successful hunt means providing the best reasonable opportunity possible. King Whitetails cannot guarantee that a hunter will harvest an animal.

Weather Conditions

King Whitetails cannot control the weather, and hunting conditions can change throughout your hunt. Hunters must arrive prepared to hunt in any weather situation and bring appropriate clothing and gear for the expected conditions.

7. Trophy Deer and Additional Fees

The minimum trophy standard for King Whitetails whitetail hunts is 140 inches.

A buck scoring 140 inches or more has no additional trophy fee. A buck scoring 130 to 139 inches carries a $500 fee. A buck scoring under 130 inches carries a $1,500 fee.

Hunters are responsible for making their own decisions about whether to harvest an animal. King Whitetails provides guidance and hunting opportunities but does not guarantee the size or outcome of a harvest.

8. Hunter Responsibilities

  • Hunters must have the licenses, permits, tags and other legal requirements necessary for their hunt.
  • Hunters are responsible for bringing appropriate clothing, footwear and personal hunting equipment.
  • Firearm hunters must follow all applicable firearm and blaze orange requirements.
  • Hunters are expected to follow all instructions given by their guide and to conduct themselves safely and responsibly.
  • Hunters are responsible for complying with all applicable Kansas hunting regulations.
  • Weather conditions can change quickly. Hunters are responsible for arriving prepared for the conditions they may encounter.

9. Guides and Hunting Decisions

King Whitetails guides make stand, property and hunting strategy decisions based on current scouting information, wind direction, weather, historical information, trail camera activity, animal movement and conditions in the field.

Stand locations and hunting plans may change during a hunt. This is part of the guided hunting process and is intended to give hunters the best opportunity possible under current conditions.

Hunters are expected to work cooperatively with their guides and follow reasonable safety and property instructions.

10. Lodging and Meals

The King Whitetails lodge is located on 5 private acres along the Smoky Hill River. The lodge has six bedrooms with two to three beds in each room, two full bathrooms, a spacious living room with a TV, a large central kitchen, Wi-Fi, a guest laundry room and scent lockers in each room.

Hunting properties are generally 10 to 35 minutes from the lodge, although some properties may take longer.

Whitetail deer and guided or all-inclusive spring turkey packages include lodging and three meals per day according to the applicable hunt package. Breakfast is continental, lunch is packed for the field, and dinner is a full-course home-cooked meal with dessert.

Predator hunts include lodging but do not include meals. Waterfowl day hunts do not include meals or lodging. The three-day waterfowl package includes meals and lodging.

11. Non-Hunting Guests

Non-hunting partners may stay at the lodge when room availability allows. Non-hunting guests are responsible for arranging their own daytime activities while the hunting party is in the field.

12. Corporate and Group Hunts

  • Deer hunts require a minimum of 8 hunters for an exclusive lodge booking.
  • Turkey hunts require a minimum of 6 hunters.
  • Predator hunts require a minimum of 6 hunters.
  • Waterfowl hunts require a minimum of 6 hunters.

Corporate hunts currently receive 10% off normal pricing. The normal inclusions and structure of the applicable hunt apply unless a different arrangement has been agreed upon with King Whitetails.

13. Lodge Rules and Guest Conduct

Alcohol is permitted at the lodge as long as it is moderate and does not become an issue. No smoking is permitted.

No alcohol is permitted within 8 hours before a hunt. Drugs are not permitted at any time.

Firearms must be kept unloaded in a safe location at the lodge and in vehicles.

Guests are responsible for the cost of any damage they cause to lodge property.

Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM out of respect for other hunters.

Guests may be asked to leave if these rules are breached.

14. Game Retrieval and Processing

Game retrieval is included with the applicable guided hunt packages. A walk-in cooler is available at the lodge for hanging game, and deer can be cut at the lodge.

King Whitetails currently recommends Diamond A Processing in Junction City for meat processing and Coal Creek Taxidermy for taxidermy services.

Rush meat processing with a 24 to 48 hour turnaround may be available for an additional fee. Processing prices are subject to the processor's current rates.

Guides can cape deer at the lodge. Hunters are responsible for complying with applicable requirements when transporting harvested game, including any requirements concerning deboned meat when crossing state lines.

15. Travel and Transportation

King Whitetails does not provide airport transportation. Hunters are responsible for arranging their own transportation or renting a vehicle.

16. Gratuity

Gratuity is not included in hunt pricing. King Whitetails recommends a guide gratuity of approximately 10% to 20% of the guide hunt cost when hunters feel the guide provided good service.

For lodge cleaners and cooks, King Whitetails recommends approximately $20 to $40 per day.

17. Hunt Dates and Changes

Hunt dates and hunt lengths vary by season and hunt type. Published dates and prices may change for future seasons. Hunters should confirm their specific dates, hunt length and current rate with King Whitetails when booking.

Beginning in 2028, the planned rifle and muzzleloader format is one seven-full-day hunt. Any future changes to hunt dates, pricing or format will be communicated by King Whitetails when the booking is made.

If King Whitetails has to cancel or change a hunt, the hunt will be rolled over to the following year. No refunds will be provided, and transfers are subject to King Whitetails approval.

18. Property Access and Conduct

King Whitetails leases private hunting ground and maintains exclusive access for its hunters. Exact farm locations are kept private.

Hunters may not enter, access or hunt private properties outside the arrangements made with King Whitetails. Hunters are expected to respect private property, equipment, stands, blinds, vehicles and other hunters at all times.

19. Safety and Liability Waiver

Hunting involves inherent risks, including firearms, elevated stands, uneven terrain, weather, wildlife, travel and other outdoor hazards. Hunters are expected to use appropriate safety equipment and follow all guide instructions.

Firearm and archery hunters are responsible for safe handling and use of their equipment. Hunters using elevated stands should use an appropriate safety harness and lanyard.

A liability waiver and assumption-of-risk agreement must be signed upon arrival before participating in the hunt.

20. Changes to These Terms

King Whitetails may update these Terms & Conditions when its booking policies, hunt structures or services change. The terms applicable to a booking will be communicated as part of the booking process.
