Kansas Predator Hunting

Predator hunting at King Whitetails is built around 10,000 acres of private Kansas ground and the times when coyotes and bobcats are most active. From January 1 through March 31, we offer predator hunts on a first-come, first-served basis, giving hunters the flexibility to choose dates that work for them.

We focus on two species: coyotes and bobcats. Coyotes are hunted at night using thermal equipment, while bobcats are targeted around dusk and dawn when they are most active.

With fewer hunters in the field during this part of the year, predator hunting offers a completely different experience from our deer and turkey hunts. The country is quieter, the days are different, and the focus is entirely on finding predators.

10,000 Acres of Private Kansas Ground

King Whitetails has 10,000 acres dedicated to predator hunting. Having access to a large amount of private ground allows us to spread hunters out and move between areas when conditions change.

We hunt a combination of Kansas terrain and use our knowledge of the properties to determine where to set up. Predator hunting can change quickly, so having multiple properties available gives us options throughout your hunt.

Coyotes and Bobcats

Coyotes are hunted at night using thermal equipment. Night hunting gives us the opportunity to target coyotes during a period when they are naturally active and moving.

Bobcats are hunted around dusk and dawn. These periods give us the best opportunity to encounter them as they move through the country.

Each species requires a different approach, and our guides adjust the hunt around the conditions and what we are seeing.

Electronic Calling

We use electronic calling as part of our predator hunting approach.

Hunters are encouraged to bring their own predator hunting setup if they have one they are comfortable using. If you do not have your own setup, contact us before booking and we can talk through your options.

Our goal is to keep the setup practical and let the conditions dictate how we hunt rather than forcing every hunt into the same routine.

A Different Kind of Kansas Hunt

Predator hunting has a different rhythm than sitting over a deer stand or chasing a spring turkey.

Coyotes are hunted at night, while bobcat hunts are focused around dusk and dawn. That means your hunting day may not follow the traditional sunrise-to-sunset schedule.

The quieter winter months also give hunters a chance to experience a different side of Kansas. With 10,000 acres available for predator hunting, we can move between properties and continue looking for opportunities throughout your stay.

We just finished our 5 day early muzzleloader hunt with King Whitetails. I cannot say enough good things about this hunt. From the accommodations to the food, to the guides, this experience was first class! Our group went 7/8 on Kansas Giants! Danny, Brian and Carson worked their tails off to put us on exceptional bucks every single day. Although I came away empty handed, I will most definitely be booking again for 2028. King Whitetails is the real deal.

There is no question that King Whitetails is the #1 outfitter in Kansas and probably the entire country. I truly believe there are not another group of people who will work harder to make your stay enjoyable. I would not change a thing about them if we harvested big bucks or not.......but we slammed them!!!! We will be back to do it again as soon as we can.

The guides made an effort to create relationships to help you best succeed, all the staff made you feel at home and created a very welcoming atmosphere. The food was great, the house was clean and the experience was one of one!! Already have a hunt booked for 28!

I was able to connect with King Whitetails on the back end of a work trip out in Kansas in March 2026. Coming from Hawaii I wanted to experience great predator hunting that I have always read about growing up in this State. Weather was flipping over from mid 50’s in the mornings up to 95 degrees during the day. Predator movement and responses were excellent one night and the next a bit slower. In hunting you can never expect a guarantee but Carson and I worked hard and we traveled to many calling sites setting up call sequences and the use of thermal technology was excellent and legal for season. I got to see some awesome wildlife out in the field. The custom built rifle used was a wildcat .22 Creedmoor and made fast work at the quick and leary targets. Shots ranged from under 40 yds and out past 400 yds. harvesting coyotes. Housing and food was awesome and greatly appreciated, Kaci you can cook well! Great people, great opportunities and some great conversations shared while out in the hills and flats over in Kansas. These bruddahs know there stuff and took care of a Hawaii boy like me. Greatly appreciate you guys and Mahalo Plenty🤙🏽!

Absolutely a great turkey hunt! Had an outstanding turkey hunt and couldn’t be more impressed with the experience. Despite a challenging morning, the team’s perseverance paid off we watched nearly 20 birds and harvested a beautiful Rio. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. I’ll definitely be returning for my next Rio hunt.
